FLX Local Media is offering paid internships for the current semester across multiple departments. Work alongside experienced professionals at the Finger Lakes’ leading local media company, serving communities through 7 radio stations and fingerlakesdailynews.com.

What You'll Do

  • News — Report on local stories, conduct interviews, write for web and broadcast. Learn newsroom operations, deadline writing, and multimedia storytelling.
  • Sales — Support the sales team with client research, proposal preparation, and campaign coordination. Learn media sales, client relationships, and advertising strategy.
  • Production — Create audio content for on-air and digital platforms. Learn audio editing, voiceover recording, and commercial production.
  • Digital — Work on web content, social media, email newsletters, and analytics. Learn digital publishing, audience engagement, and content strategy.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred but not required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in local media, community journalism, or broadcasting
  • Must be able to commute to our Geneva, NY offices
